Customer Reviews

Great kit, modified with LEDs and motors.Great kit, unfortunately, one of the yellow pieces that go on the cheeks broke while I was trying to extract it from the runner. The shiny pieces that go on the head can be a bit annoying to put on but can be done with the right tools.I haven't completed the kit yet because I'm trying to customize it with LEDs (unfortunately I only have 0603 blue) and micro-stepper motors (6mm canon micros for the head). Looks great. 5Real Grade PerfectionBandai's Real Grade 1/144 Exia Gundam is a joy to behold. It is one of the best of the line so far in terms of looks, poseability, and accessories. If you liked anything about the Exia from Gundam 00, this is the kit to have. The level of detail on this kit is great, but not distracting from the simple design. The given decals do enough of a job enhancing it without overwhelming it. Most of the chrome stickering is used as an accent for the semi-clear blue and green parts that adorn the design. Bandai thankfully had the forethought to give this kit chromed blades from the get go and it really makes it stand out. What really makes this kit shine is the ease of poseability. Due to the Exia's simple, melee oriented design, it gets to make great use of the Real Grade action frame. Up on a action base or standing on a shelf, it poses well, balances well and has no trouble holding it's mighty GN Sword at full extension. The cockpit hatch can open, revealing one of the tiniest cockpit openings I have seen, and the GN Drive assembly on the back can extend out slightly to reveal more of it's GN goodness. It's hard for me to find any real caveats with this kit. Perhaps the only one is that the shoulder parts can pop off if you extend the arms too far upward, but that's more a design issue due to the plastic ribbon piece so I can't hold it against it much. The Exia comes with it's GN Sword, the pair of GN Blades, a melee shield, Four beam sabers plus two pegged, a pair of long and short beam blades, pair of RG hands, pair of trigger/grasping hands, pair of fists, and a pair of open hands. It comes with a action base connector so use that if you intend to display it on one. Curiously, it also comes with an extra v-fin so do what you want with it. I painted the extra in more traditional yellow/red colors just to see how it looks.Highly recommended kit. 5Fun, challenging and detailed. This took me about 3.5 hours to build, was very fun and is very well detailed. This was my first gunpla. I wish there where more Real Grade models available then there are. 5Solid enough to end conflict through armed intervention. It looks and feels incredible. But, there are some small limitations. The head is kind of a nightmare to assemble, and a certain section toward the front of the leg likes to come out of the socket. The waist skirts greatly limit the forward kick. But everything else? Amazing. I really like it. 4Gundam Exia = RG GoodnessThis was my favorite model to build so far (and first RG). The RG skeleton really embraces the mobility and allows the Exia to form pose after pose. Although he comes with a great selection of beam swords and solid swords, I really can't remove the GN Sword from his hand based on principal alone. It's that cool. Some clear green (for the headpiece and GN drive) make great eye candy.Although there's a TON of decals, it's satisfying to apply them all and they really make the details pop. This is one you can show your friends, point and say "I did this" and they'll be all "Wows" 5Setsuna F Seiei, Launching ExiaWhile the package came in bad shape. Upon closer inspection of the runners only one piece came off but no damage at all. As always I expect the great mobility and complexity of a build from the RG Line and this one delivers it as well. Only little nitpick I would have is the details of the GN Drive and how its removed from the gundam (literally deconstructing some parts)Having built the MG version. I am fully happy with the improvements that went into the Exia the shoulders were a pain for the MG, as well as the ankles *hard to get it standing on a shelf* Currently in the process of building the RG. Took 1 good hour just to build up one of the legs. It'll be decalled and panel lined. Displaying it next to its successor. The finished product looks amazing. Mobility is a little bit hindered because of the front skirt armor (kind of wished it was built like the MG version instead, but its not a problem). Overall the aesthetics for this model is greater than the MG, as well as its ability to stand on its own. If you're an Exia fanboy like myself you will enjoy it.*SIDE NOTE- be careful of the notches on the Arms I managed to cut one of them off by accident and had to glue on the arm itself, GN powerstrips slides off and on from time to time but that's my own fault* 5All around awesome. This is one of the most resilient models i have ever built. Took a dive from the top of my six foot book shelf, and only lost one small piece easily put back on! It is amazing at how well it stood up!The reason i gave it 4 out of 5 is the small piece on its "cheeks". I have put together so many models, but nothing has frustrated me as much as these small parts! But as a suggestion on ANY Real grade. Get a stand. It will help for posing, and the long gevity of your model. 4Fantastic build for the price! This was a fantastic kit to build and it looks great on the shelf. The build was straightforward, although challenging at times, especially considering I m still fairly new to gunpla building. Trying to get some of the clear blue sticker-like inserts that create the holo effects into place was frustrating, and I almost lost one of the ones for the head unit, but in the end it was worth it as they do look really cool.My biggest criticisms would have to be that the small details are clear-backed stickers rather than dry transfer decals, but again I m somewhat new, so take that with a grain of salt if that s how the majority of Real Grade kits are. Additionally, while this is a relatively sturdy kit, I had a few issues with the hands popping out and the right shoulder coming off while trying to fit weapons in place and pose the kit. Once posed, though, it s not going anywhere.Overall though, this is definitely a kit I d recommend to any gunpla builder, especially if you re a fan of the Exia suit and need to have every version of it. Obviously the Master Grade gives you a bit more, especially as it can incorporate an LED unit, but for less than $30 this is a steal of a kit. This was a great way to kill a couple afternoons and it ll be in the forefront of my gunpla shelf for a long time! 4Exia from 00 in GREAT detailThe RG line is amazing! I've built PG, HG, RE , and MG. The RG line is my favorite. Some of the pieces are super small and this kit, as with other RG's will require patience, files, sandpaper, tweezers (tiny decals), panel lining and dedication to get it looking amazing. The detail is just off the charts. More so than even the MG version. The frame is almost fully assembled so that is great. I have yet to panel line it and will post more pics of it after that. 5Great kit. Lots of detail and the "chrome" blade ...Great kit. Lots of detail and the "chrome" blade pieces are great. My only real complaint comes down to the "holographic" ribbon pieces that fit into the arms, legs, and shoulders. The instructions make it look like they're supposed to be bent as pieces around them are snapped together, but there's nothing keeping them that way, and they end up snapping back straight.Otherwise, great kit with so much detail and pose potential. 4
