Customer Reviews

Awesome cards for cardistry and magicGreat for cardistry, and okay for magic tricks. I know some people buy these for card games, but I'm not really sure why. At $10 a pop, these are pretty expensive to let your buddies paw them and spill beer over (which is why I buy Kems or other plastic cards for gaming).Theory 11 makes designs good cards. The Monarchs are made by USPCC, but under Q1 standards. Just FYI, Q1 doesn't mean they're using some special process, it means they have highest level of quality control technicians during the productions process, so these cards are as flawless as USPCC can make. The cards are very slippery, which makes them great for spreads and fans, but a little bit touchy for packet control. Definitely manageable though. The tuck case is gorgeous and feels great. I think the blue decks are the best looking of the Monarchs. The green has a nice "old timey" look, and the red is very regal, but the blue is just a great all around color for any use.The card faces are all standard except for the Ace of Spades and the matching Jokers, which are custom. These nice thing about this is that while the cards look classier than a deck of Bikes, they don't look like a trick deck.I think the best compliment you make about a set of cards is that they show and handle well. Monarchs deliver in spades on both counts. 5They bend badlyI really want to like these cards. Beautiful tuck box, but after just a handful of shuffles and card springs, the cards are badly bent. This doesn't happen to any of my bicycle decks or any of the other premium decks I own (mostly Ellusionist). I wish I liked these more, but I can't get over how deformed the cards are after minimal use. 2Great cards for cardistry and magicGreat for cardistry, and okay for magic tricks. Because these cards were shipped when it was so hot outside the seal did not peel off without leaving the glue residue on the box. Now it s impossible to open the box without getting residue on my hands. I finally get the box open and go wash my hands before touching the cards. Get back and start handling the cards. Realize the glue didn t actually come all the way off my hands. Now the edges of every card are sticky. Now random cards stick together and I can t handle the cards when my hands are clean because they get residue on them. Stop sealing your decks with a seal that has glue on it. If these are the worlds best playing cards then you should have a box that doesn t mimic an 89 cent pack of bikes. How about a clip, or a button or a box that hooks into itself to close? 1Buy theseThis is not the prettiest deck of cards that $10 can buy. However, it is the finest handling deck in my collection. These cards come out of the box as soft as silk. They practically shuffle themselves. Some prefer a snappier deck, but these are smooth like butter. To each their own, but I will take soft and smooth over snappy and stiff every day. I could see longevity becoming an issue with this deck because they are so soft, but so far no problems.PS: Easiest deck to "break in" EVER 5Great playing cards!I have a ton of decks of bicycles, so I thought I'd switch it up. I wanted another go-to deck to have around, and play cards with friends. This one is amazing! I love the box details with the gold foil, and the designs on both the faces and backs. What really stood out to me is the craftsmanship and quality of the prints, the paper, and durability. Most bicycle decks I've owned begin to fade out, or the color begins to chip from shuffling and normal use. I've used these for a few months now and you can barely tell they have been worn. They are still well balanced, spread easily, and have their prints vibrant. 5Great deck of cardsI my book a man should own a few must haves in life. A excellent deck of cards is one of them. Yes, you could buy cheaper ones. More decks most likely. But you will not have any of these outstanding cards then. The money is well spent. People will ask you where you got them from if you pull these out at your next poker game.Buy these cards guys, keep them next to your sunglasses, watches and cufflinks - there they will be in the right company 5Beautiful and durableI really love these cards. Got them for cardistry and magic. The cards themselves are harder than most standard uspcc made cards so aren't as easy to work with when it comes to magic, but with cardistry are pretty great. Plus the cut doesn't feel as smooth, but isn't rough either, still nice. Keep their shape and don't wear really face. The faces are my favorite part with the color scheme; give a high class look. Would recommend. 5Very classy lookingReally like these. Got them as something that would stand out and look a little more sophisticated than the usual deck of cards and boy did these deliver. These are really nice and feel like you should put on a tux or something to play with them or be an extra in a James Bond movie playing in a casino in Monte Carlo. They have a good feel and are easy to handle and read. I wouldn't hesitate to get these again. 5Top notch quality - Non symmetric jokersThe quality is great, best in class. I have a red deck as well. The color on the court cards are deep and vibrant. The cards have a nice bend and hold up nicely against time. Only gripe is the non symmetrically jokers. I would buy again without hesitations 5
