This is for one (1) replacement remote only. These were originally sold in pairs of two however they also function as standalone databanks with password protection as well as a built in calculator. These were released by marvel and saw limited production in 2010 in coordination with the Iron Man 2 movie. Having a pair or more allows the users to link and send text messages back and forth. There is no service or subscription necessary for this product, it communicated over a RF frequency similar to a remote control. Other RF devices in range may affect the quality and range of these messengers depending on the strength of those other devices already present. They take two AA batteries which may or may not be included depending on the individual seller. Also, packaging and other contents may vary between sellers and is not necessarily included.
